Special Issue on: “Epidemiological Research on Novel Cardiovascular Rik Factors” in collaboration with the Journal of Cardiovascular Development and Disease (IF:4.415)

Very happy to announce the Special Issue on: “Epidemiological Research on Novel Cardiovascular Rik Factors” in collaboration with the Journal of Cardiovascular Development and Disease (IF:4.415).
The Special Issue will focus on novel factors for CVD in both patient and general populations (younger and older) and invites contributions related to, but not limited to:
(Early) vascular ageing;
Cardiorenal syndrome;
Gut microbiome;
Use of imaging modalities;
Social and behavioral determinants of risk for CVD;
Environmental determinants of risk for CVD.

What is Genome Editing?

You can follow the link to a short video on the Ethics of Genome Editing that the Bioethics and Ethics of Science Section has recently produced.

It is the first of the series of educational and informative videos on the Ethics of Genome Editing.

The video production was financially supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan and the video pharmacy online is available with subtitles in English, French and Japanese.  
The video is aimed to promote ethical reflection on Genome Editing research and its application and it could be used for training and awareness raising purposes. More videos on this series will be released shortly (2. Ethical issues of Genome Editing, 3. Genome Editing of animals and plants, etc.).

“Arterial health and our neighborhood. Invitation to participate in a new Research of CUT “

The Cyprus International Institute for Environmental and Public Health and the Department of Nursing of Cyprus University of Technology  announce the launch of aresearch project on the topic “The role of social gradient and area indicators on arterial health”, as part of a doctoral dissertation of Galatia Photiou at the International Institute under the supervision of  Dr. Andrie Panayiotou .The project  will assess the impact of the community social environment, as well as individual characteristics of the community, such as access to parks, pedestrian zones, etc, on the health of the cardiovascular system.
