The Cyprus Bioethics Unit was established in 2016 at CUT, under the then International Network of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics (Haifa). Today the Cyprus Bioethics Unit is part of the International Chair in Bioethics Network (WMA Collaborating Centre), a global collaboration network.

In 2019, a memorandum of collaboration was also signed between the Cyprus and the Hellenic Units, further promoting their joint actions as seen to the following link:

The World Bioethics Day is celebrated every year on the 19th of October across the world from the International Network of Units.
